Electricity Went Out In Half The House

You only have one phase of electricity available and therefore one half of your house is being powered.

Electricity went out in half the house.

This resulted in a small spark and instantly all the power in my room went out. I checked outlets and no power was found. When you have a partial power outage typically a line from the power company has been compromised. If part of your house loses electricity you may not have a serious electrical problem.

I tried changing all the fuses and even a breaker that i thought was causing it. Per ray2047 your suggestion i called the power company and supposedly they ll check it out within the next 1 5 hours. There is the occasion that you simply have a bad link in your breaker box. I have half electricity in my house.

Your house s electrical system uses several parallel circuits to distribute electricity separately to various parts of the house. I went to the breaker box and tested power coming out of each breaker and found that every other one had power and and every other one didn t have power. Will update once they assess. Fyi in the last 2 3 weeks i did replace a switched light fixture that is on half the house affected with the outage.

It fell over and landed on the floor and the cord ripped from the wall. The rest of the house does have electricity. One circuit can go out without affecting others. This included testing the 4 breaker main switches which 2 of the 4 had power and 2 didn t.

Basically i lost electricity in one room. I had my computer plugged into the wall it was sitting on my desk.
